Asked to bring my luxury and brand experience to a very smart idea that had found a way to do the impossible: make pure, real diamond from thin air.
Harnessing ecological technologies including carbon extraction from the atmosphere, rainwater purification, and cutting edge diamond forges, the nascent SkyDiamond company was first to master a method that not only avoided damage to the planet from traditional destructive mining techniques, but also designed a unique process that’s only output was air cleaner than it started with.
Having mastered the technical process, what was needed was a different kind of know-how - how to present this to the world in a way that felt just as luxurious, just as valuable, as the huge, dominant mined diamond industry. Which is where I came in. During the crucial period running up to launch, I stewarded a go-to-market strategy driving partnerships, brand narrative, and most importantly, pricing - successfully arguing that, unlike the much lower perceived value of lab-grown diamonds, these unique skydiamonds carried the same, if not higher, value than mined diamonds, given the innovation and complete absence of damage to the world.
The first batches of pure, high quality, cut skydiamonds ever offered to the market all sold out within hours of their release, opening up a new market of ecologically concerned luxury customers who until then had felt morally unable to purchase diamonds due to their destructive processes.
Key Visual: ‘Another Way’
SkyDiamond truly set itself apart from all other mined or lab-grown diamonds in terms of composition, characteristics, and emissions footprint, creating incredibly beautiful stones ordained 100% by nature.
True, future-facing, ecological innovation.
Skydiamond leads a new wave in diamond creation with a first-of-its-kind production process, Skydiamonds are completely clean, created with raw materials exclusively from the sky; C02, Wind, sun and rain, and powered exclusively by renewable energy giving them a certifiable yet extraordinary carbon-negative status.
